Statutory requirements
Installation of a water supply into a building in New Zealand must be in accordance with NZ Building Code Clause G12 Water supplies, or AS/NZS 3500.1 Plumbing and drainage – Water services and AS/NZS 3500: Plumbing and drainage – Heated water services.
Other NZ Building Code Clauses that apply to water supply include:
- Clause G1 Personal hygiene
- Clause G2 Laundering
- Clause G3 Food preparation and prevention of contamination.
