Noise
External noise is difficult to mitigate but effects may be reduced by:
- locating the building away from noise if possible
- locating the building behind a bank or rise that will act as a barrier to the noise
- constructing fences to act as sound barriers
- using excavated materials to construct noise screening
- arranging the layout so service rooms provide a barrier between the noise source and habitable rooms.
